McCall in Notice

Last week our school police officer, Officer Brown, was notified by the District that effective immediately he was being transferred out of McCall and that McCall would be without a police officer. This news is difficult for McCall and he will be greatly missed.

Please know that we will reach out to the District to see what we can do to ensure our children are in a safe and secure environment. However, budget issues are at the forefront of this issue.

So what can we do?

Express your concerns about our children's safety to:

Please focus your issues strictly on safety concerns as all of the extras Officer Brown gave to the children at McCall were due to his generosity and care for McCall, but will not be a reason to restore an officer to our school.

We need you to be aware and present. It is now up to us, parents/guardians of our children, to ensure activities on the school yard are appropriate and safe and that strangers are not looming.

  1. Each parent has a responsibility to make sure children are behaving appropriately and if not, step in. If you are not sure what to do, ask the child to stand against the wall until a faculty member arrives.
  2. Volunteer your time to cover the morning rush when many people are coming in and out of the school.
  3. Volunteer your time to cover recess and lunch periods to make sure our children are safe.
  4. If you see something concerning, please let your child's teacher, Principal Rock, or Ms. Patti in the office know ASAP.

We have no extra staff in the school to fill voids.

Also remember, no one is allowed into the school without signing in at the office. No children can be dismissed to a parent/guardian without showing identification (which must match your emergency contact form on file at the school).
