This Week in and Around McCall

Green Team Update

The Green Team is busily planning some spring time events to begin work on beautifying the McCall grounds and getting families involved in their environment. The students have done a terrific job of identifying what we need and educating families about the value of recycling. Now we need some man or woman power. Plus, we have $1,900 to spend on this project.

We will be having a spring planning meeting on Monday, April 7th at 3:00 PM in Mr. Knoflicek's room for anyone who would like to get more involved in making McCall a sustainability leader in Philadelphia. We will be planning events and delegating tasks so we can get our Earth Day project started.

In addition, if you or anyone you know works in landscaping, horticulture, or is an arborist then we would love to speak with them. We want to rely on all the resources McCall has to offer before seeking outside help. Please let us know by emailing Billy Menz at billymenz@yahoo.com or Scott Knoflicek at sknoflicek@philasd.org with contact info. We will be in need of plants, dirt, wood, and tree expertise.

Thanks,
McCall Green Team
